About Akido
Aikido is a traditional Japanese martial art created by Morihei Ueshiba (O-Sensei) in the early 20th century. As the physical practice of philosophical principles developed by O-Sensei, Aikido strives for the ultimate goal of peaceful resolution rather than defeat. Composed of three Japanese characters: Ai, meaning harmony; Ki, spirit or energy; and Do, the path or the way, the word Aikido thus signifies the “Way of Unifying Life Energy”. In this regard, O-Sensei created a martial art in which the preservation of one’s attacker is equally important as one’s own self defense.

UFC 140 Results UFC 140 came to us all live on December 10, 2011, from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada. The main event between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and medical evacuation insurance Shotokan karate black belt Lyoto Machida had fans salivating, due to the riddle that both fighters brought to the table. The last time we saw Mark Hominick, he put in a spirited effort against Jose Aldo. Next up- Chan Sung Jung. Many thought that Hominick’s supposed advantage in striking would show through easily. Instead, Chan Sung Jung tied a visitors insurance USA UFC record in stopping him at the 7 second mark of round one at UFC 140.Simply put, Hominick started out too aggressively, coming forward with his hands down, which led to getting dropped by a right hand.
