Each class will provide a minimum of 90 minutes of instruction divided into 2 segments. The first segment is 30 minutes and is dedicated to physical conditioning exercises, stretching, meditation, ukemi (tumbling and falling drills), and aiki-taisos. Aiki-taisos exercises can best be described as common body movements, which are the foundation of aikido techniques.
The remaining hour focuses on the application of aiki-taiso through partner drills. These are action/reaction drills where responses are shown to a specified attack. Practice begins with simple responses that increase in difficulty through the remainder of the class.
